Im looking at purchasing a Panasonic TH-37PX60 or Sony Bravia KDL-40V2000 with a Denon DVD-1920, Denon AVR-1906 which should look ok on a Alphason APX50/4-b stand.

Looking to spend £500 - £1000 on speakers which will only be used for films as music is from separate system.

Have read that B&W MT20, Mission M Cube, Kef 2005.2 are all highly recommended.

Any advice on any of the above or other speakers would be appreciated.

Another option along similar lines is the Anthony Gallo cinema setup for £850 - 5 Micro satellites & a TR-1 sub.

I prefer them to the M-Cubes.

Of the 3, for the price, the Mission MCube would be my choice. The MCubes do not get the praise they deserve imo.

You should also consider the Kef 3005 pack too. I considered all the ones you are, although i didn't demo the missions as when i saw them 'in the flesh' i didn't like the look of them.

Kef 3005 & B&W MT-20 were very similar in movie performance, which was very impressive, but the Kefs were imo better for music.

A couple of others should be considered amongst the mentioned

    Tannoy Arena £1000
    MS Genies £525
    Monitor Audio Radius £980
    Mission M-cubes £800
    B&W MT20 £975
    Kef KHT-3005 £1000
    Kef KHT-2005.2 £500

    Spoilt for choice

The problem i came across with some of these packages - i need stands for the fronts so in the case of the B&W etc this adds another crazy £200 onto the price.

Not quite £200 in the case of the Kef3005s. they are £120. :) Still far too much imho, but they are very good quality.

Thanks for all the advice. I'm even more confused now with the extra speakers being recommended.

Haven't heard of Anthony Gallo but have now requested a brochure.

Over the next week i'll be out and about trying to demo some.

    Thanks

    Ian
