I auditioned both of these (the MT60D package for the M1's). I found the M1's less "boxy". Both driven by Yamaha AVR's. They are both still reasonably priced satellite speakers at the end of the day and I think this impacts the sound quality.

If you're interested in buying them, are you able to demo them, preferably back to back?

MA Radius 90 & 200 would be better competitor for M1`s. Similar size, but the center channel has edge with dual mid-bass drivers. Mass shares some older Radius technology, plus Radius real wood veneer cabinet is step up.

Radius 90 - 350£/pair Monitor Audio Radius 90 Walnut Bookshelf / Satellite Speakers (Pair) - Monitor Audio - AudioVisual Online - UK Home Cinema and Hifi Specialists
Radius 200 - 200£ Monitor Audio Radius 200 White Centre Speaker (Single) - Monitor Audio - AudioVisual Online - UK Home Cinema and Hifi Specialists

Audio-T sells both (M1 & Radius), so they might be able to give you demo! Also i would assume some kind of 5.0 package deal might be possible as both of these "lifestyle" speaker prices are quite juicy.

Radius won`t get updated soon, new Mass serie should be coming some point this year. No word on B&W M1 which is from 2012, B&W is always tight lipped about new models.

Many thanks for your replies.
Going to have a listen to MT50 package today.
Already heard the Radius 90 - sounded a little clerical to me but then I'm comparing with my home mission setup.

Always tricky when you can`t compare products head to head in same room with same material and with same receiver (similar what you have at home). That`s why i would try the head to head comparison (Audio-T has many shops) if possible. Demoing couple times is going to make you more certain that you are making the right choice, hopefully. So it wouldn`t be waste of time hearing them again later on if possible.

Anyway i hope you aren`t buying the subwoofer which comes with the MT50 or Radius package. There is better ones available for similar money / less, but you didn`t mention sub so i assume you will be using the one you got now.

Enjoy the demo and keep us posted!

Ok so heard B&W MT50 setup to day with and without sub and was pleasantly suprised what they could do. Thought they were a little warmer than Radius 90, took along some classical music I know well and pretty good from small drivers.
Appreciate more demo's required especially head to head with same kit.
I will keep my current sub, I can upgrade that at anytime.

Hi,

Did you go with the B&W MT50 in the end?

Just looking at a new sub/sat system and was considering the MT50, just holding off due to their age - wonder if a replacement is in the horizon?

Cheers
