    B&W DS6 S3 rear surround speakers Vs DS6
Has anyone compared the two of these speakers as I have looked at the specs on the B&W website and they do seem an upgrade over my current DS6"s I just wondered if anyone had actually heard them?
I am in between rooms at the moment waiting for the final plaster finish on my new mini cini room so that I can move in with all the equipment and am a little worried with regards to the rear speaker placement. When in my last room I placed them parallel with the listening position but about 1 metre above head level this time I have positioned the wires at head level parallel to the seating position (3 metre distance between speakers) have I boo booed? are they going to be too close to the listening position ?the main difference is that in my new room the seating position is flat against the rear wall as opposed to downstairs where the rear wall was about 4 metres behind the listening position?

    Thanks in advance:)

there should be a huge difference as the new ones are ful range
and the original ds6 speakers had limited frequencies
    (so i am told)
do a quick search as this has been discussed before about the ds6

basically you would benifit from the upgraded versions IMO
    good luck

The original DS6 were made for Dolby Pro-Logic and they had a limited (upper) frequency range, around 8kHz if I remember correctly.
Thus they are IMHO not suitable for DD/DTS or multi-channel music.
