I have a space big enough for an LCR60 or a CMC.

The CMC is almost twice as expensive as the LCR60 but seems less well specified in terms of freq response, size, weight etc. Has anybody listened to both of these side by side and have an opinion as to which one sounds better? Theres no space for CDMCSE's, LCR600 or NT's before anyone asks :)

    Thanks for any opinions

What left and rights are you matching the centre with?

    Hi Sounddog,

The fronts are 7NT's but for this scenario thats partly irrelevant as its really a question of what makes the CMC worth nearly double what the LCR60 is worth in monetary terms. I'm not necessarily going to buy one but was considering an experiment in borrowing one :)

In that case ... try the LCR60 ... for £200 it's a bargain and equal (or better than) many speakers that are much more expensive.

Cheers Victoria, but I'm still interested in how 2 current range speakers can vary so much in price when the more expensive would appear to be inferior. Just a bit puzzled :)

The CM series have real wood veneer finish whereas the 600 series are vinyl wood effect.

I would agree with you though that the 600 are probably nicer sounding ... possibly even to the point of the 602 is nicer sounding than the CDM1NT ...

That was my feeling re part of the cost but an extra £150??

I've owned both, the 602's aren't even on the same playing field as far as sound is concerned, as well as being hit with the ugly stick before leaving the factory. IMHO of course :)
