    Hi there

Having decided to go for a Subwoofer for my system, i've decided between 2 and I am now stuck for choice between the B&W ASW675 or Rel Stampede.

I currently have B&W 603 for Left and right with LCR 60 for centre.

    Does anyone have any opinions?

    Thanks

    Hi
Will it be for movies and music,The asw675 is a excellent little sub and would outperform the rel with movies but with music the rel is a bit more flexible as you can run both high level and low level connections where on the asw675 you just have a low level connection,I have owned the asw675 and can vouch for its performance. If size isnt important you can pick up a svs tower for the same price and it will really give you what you are after clean powerfull bass,
    Cheers Gonzo. :)

    Hi there Gonzo

I'm mainly using it for movies, with the occasion use for music.

How does the 675 work for music? and the stampede with movies?

    Thanks

    Hi
The rel i owned was easier to set up (intergrate) with music, the asw675 was more difficult but with careful setup sounds very good it just takes longer. The asw675 is very powerful for its size and easily beat the rel with movies on slam and depth,The only thing i would say is give it a bit of space in its firing line and iam sure it will get you grinning.
    Cheers Gonzo.

For the money you are spending, I'd serieously look at the Quad L Subwoofer, will do both music and movies proud, in my opinion, I believe it is a few steps ahead of the Stampede and the 675, and only costs a tiny amount more. It also looks nicer :D

I got a demo of the 675 and the quad L series, and agree that it sounds a lot better.

So much so there's a quad L series in the corner of my livingroom now!!

The Mordant Short 909W seems to get a lot of good reports too. :)

The 909 is a great subwoofer aswell, but after hearing what the Quad L sub can do, I'd say it is the better buy, mind you, the Quad is £200 more expensive rrp, so it should be better.

The 909 is one of the subs featured in the budget sub test, a sticky of which can be found at the top of this very forum :D
