I'm running an oppo player with the Azur 540R V2 without the Sub. I have the option within the setup of the Oppo player to say that I DO NOT have a sub. I guess it is then splitting the Sub-channel information between the front two speakers.

However, I also have the option to do this within the amp itself.

My question is, using an optical cable, should I let the Oppo do this or the Amp?

(My guess would be the amp should do it as sorting out sound is its primary function)

    hello.

i'm also using a 540r v2 with no sub and. Ive got it set up so the amp splits the .1 through to the fronts. I tried using the dvd player to do it though and noticed no diference. so not sure if it really matters

I would think that the only time any of these settings on the DVD player has an effect will be when using 6 channel direct connect between the player and amp/receiver and not when Optical or Coax is used and selected.
