Could anyone tell me how strong the IR is on the X3i, will it for example allow the beam to be bounced off a wall.

    Cheers.

I had an X30 before installing my plasma and that was much more directional than my Pronto from 12' so no wall bouncing, but it didn't need to be pointed directly at the equipment (in my case, a Xantech repeater system)... Since installing the plasma I've had to put a card filter on the Xantech receiver which cuts its sensitivity my 60% just to get the Pronto to work and the X30 doesn't work at all... I've since swapped the X30 for an X3i and it works better but still very directional... I guess if you don't have a plasma then it should be pretty good, but don't expect Pronto type wall bouncing!!!
