I'm looking to upgrade my existing reciever (SONY STR-DB925) and I've decided on either the Pioneer AX5i or AX10i. I realise there is quite a gap in price difference (double!), but I've got to try to justify the extra cost. Does anyone know what the main advantages are of the 10 over the 5? I've got £2000 set aside, but if I can get the AX5, I can probably afford to get one of those nice Sharp LCD screens for the bedroom too!!

    Thanks in advance...

    See here .

Well, the ax10 has THX Ultra 2, 9 bands EQ for MCACC, Video converter etc.
Well, de ax 10 don't have a built in Tuner.
I think you better of with the ax 5 beacause is less expencive and you have the I link.
You decide wich of the functions you will miss when you go for the ax5.
In januari the replacement for the ax10-i will come out wich have ofcourse DPLIIx.
