Other than the obviously more powerful amps, is there any other significant differences between the two?

Need to up my power and still not sure whether to go for a multi power amp or just simply upgrade to a 600.

Yes, the AVR400 was built on a completely different platform for digital and HDMI, which fixed a lot of the bugs with the AVR600! So if you change to an AVR600, you may find that you get better sound and more power, but also pops and glitches, particularly when switching HDMI inputs.

If I were you, I'd stick with the AVR400 as a preamp and get a MCH power amp to go with it - either that, or save up for an AVR750...

No pops or glitches here - phenomenal sound - a lot less 'doh ray me' :)

    However -

    ….if I could justify the extra expense…….well :)
