I finally got around to purchasing the rest of my surround speakers. I am running Quad ESL57s for the fronts, a Magnepan CC3 for the center speaker, and Magnepan MC1s for the rears. At least partially because I have a high frquency hearing loss, I increased the gain on the center speaker by +10 dB, so as to better be able to hear dialogue. I have the maximum system volume set to 100 dB. I now notice that I can not turn the volume up above 90 dB. Is that because the +10 dB for the Center speaker reduces the maximum system volume by 10? I also notice that I can not set the maximum system volume above 100 dB. Is that normal?
