AVR280 hot even on standby!

I know that the AVR280 runs hot when it's driving speakers, but does anyone else have any experience of one getting hot even when left on standby - is it normal for the power supply transformer to get hot on standby, or is this a fault?

My AVR280 was having the same problem. Running hot in Standby Mode.
I haven't figured out why it runs cool now, but maybe it has something to do with the Zone 2. Hopefully someone else here can shed some light on the problem.

Thanks for the response, Andreas - mine suddenly started getting hot on standby, then for a short period it didn't and now it heats the lounge very nicely. During this time I didn't change any settings or equipment.
