My father is looking into the Panny pw7 but is confused (as am I  ) as to the best way to connect everything to the screen (preferably with only one connection to the screen).

Having tried a lot of searching here I've come up with the following

    Sky+ > AVR200 using s-video
    DV88+ > AVR200 using component video.
AVR200 > pw7 using component video terminal board.

Is that the best way of connecting the above two with Sky+ box?

The sky+ box has vga/s-video/composite out.

Any help will be greatly appreciated. :)

Sky+ > Svhs to component "convertor box" > component AV200
    DV88+ > component AV200
    AVR200 > PW7 Component board

Doesn't the AVR200 only have composite and s-video switching? I think you need the AVR300 if you want components switching (as well as upconversion for s-video).

Thanks, I think the AVR300 might be an option as he's thinking of going the extra mile. :) Might be a bit more of a persuader if AVR200 doesn't support components switching.

So may consider as suggested by HD in another thread.

    Sky+ > JS RGB to component > component AV300
    DV88+ > component AV300
    AVR300 > PW7 Component board

I presume at this point that Svhs and RGB are equal in picture quality, so going for the JS Tech RGB > YUV is the easiest/best option.

RGB is better than S-Video.......hence RGB>component is better than S-video> Component
If he sticks with AVR200 the DV88+ direct to component board and Sky via RGB>VGA to VGA input and bypass AVR for video
