    Hello all,

My Arcam AVR-100 has died after a decade of faithful service and I'm now looking for its replacement. I have Thiel CS1.5 main speakers, a Paradigm Studio CC v2 center, and Paradigm Monitors for surround speakers. The Thiels require a receiver that can power them correctly, but I'm looking for one around $1000. I know the NAD receivers can do the job, but the (relatively) lower priced ones are light on some desired features such as Ethernet connectivity. I would welcome any recommendation for receivers in the $1K range that could at least work with these speakers?

    Thanks,
    Ira

Where are you in the world? Would you be willing to buy secondhand?

If you are talking US$ in your budget you are definately going to have to go secondhand as anything new in that price range is going to struggle to power the speakers you have.
I am not sure what brands are available in your location (maybe a question in AVS Forums which is a US based AV forum may give better advice) but I would look for higher level but older receivers as long as you do not need all the new current features like 1.4HDMI etc. Hence look for older Arcams etc.
