Hi, please could you help, I am looking to replace my old Sony DB930 AVR Amp. I would like advice on today’s equivalent to this amp. It doesn’t have to be a Sony, but I would like it to have the same build quality and sound quality for both music and films.
FYI, I’m currently looking at Denon, am I looking in the right direction.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

The answer would rely on a few things, budget, speakers and your use case , I.e is music important if so then maybe a av amp and stereo amp would be more suitable.

I’m only looking for an amp with similar qualities, not perfection.
I’m not an audio buff, looking for perfection.

@svenandnancy I've moved your question here as it's directly aimed at AV Receivers.

My recommendation would be a Denon AVR X2600 which is still available for the moment. Very easy to set up and use and has a fair room EQ system onboard in Audyssey XT.
