Hi guys

I was wondering whether it is worth the extra £600 or is the AVR-3802 good enough?...I am looking to use both for Home Cinema and Audio?

Please help

p.s. what speakers best suit this, my price range is £1000 for speakers...

The 3802 will not have the THX processing but the decoding of all new formats around, to improve stereo performance you could add a stereo/2-channel power amp.

Don't forget that the 10SE will lack some features, mainly DTS Es Discrete (true 6.1), DPL II and THX Surround Ex for DTS Es Discrete.
From your post I take it that the 10SE is priced around GBP1200, IMHO too expensive - see below.

If you think the 3802 isn't good enough rather wait for the Denon AVC-11SR, it offers the same features as the 3802 plus THX processing and 7 channels of amplification, too.

R u saying that the AOSE doesn't offer DTS Es Discrete (true 6.1), DPL II and THX Surround Ex for DTS Es Discrete?

Yes, that's what I am saying. The replacement, AVC-11SR, will have all those features.

And also what is better, the AVC-11SR or the AVR-4802, Also what do u guys think of the Yamaha RXV-496?, Is that as good as the denon?

The AVC-11SR is IMHO essentially the same as the AVR-4802 but without the tuner (radio).

The Yamaha is not comparable, it's an entry level low budget machine and hence plays in a different league.

Does that mean that the AVR-4802 is better than both AVC-11RS and AVC-10SE?

and how much is the AVR-4802?, Can it be obtianed from Totenham court road?

The AVR-4802 is essentially for the American (etc) market where they like a built-in tuner (thus isn't normally available in the UK) whereas the AVC-11SR is for the European market etc. What I'm saying is, forget about the AVR-4802 as even if you could get it, US radio operates on different frequencies etc to the UK. Doesn't it?

"Better" just because it has a radio built in!? Come on ...

O guys thanx for all your help, and I don't want to sound stupid, but which do u guys suggest for me to get and what price is it at?
