I ve heard that if you buy avia or dve discs you ll need some glasses  with color filters or sth in order to make adjustments using all the test patterns.
Is it true or is this just another stupid question?
I was about to order the dve disc but this is what pulls me off.
If it s true where can I find these filter glasses?

    hi,
you get a card with three colour filters(red, green, blue) included with dve. you just hold it in front of your eyes to adjust.

The filters come complete with the Avia DVD as well.

It's worth pointing out that they are only used for setting colour saturation and hue so if you're inputing RGB via the VGA socket you are not going to need them anyway.

Yep, and DVE comes in both PAL & NTSC flavours.

Ok that was what i thought, so AVIA is pretty useless in PAL territory if you aren't calibrating for NTSC.....

I wouldn't say it was totally useless, still better than nothing but I'm guessing that an optimised PAL calibration disc such as DVE would be better. Maybe Gordon, Liam etc. would have a view.
