Well, I jumped off the fence and got me a Sanyo PLV-Z1 and a screen from drh screens.

Many thanks for all the help I have received from these forums :smashin:

Avia DVD - Is there a PAL version available, or is calibration universal across the standards?

I ask as I only seem to be able to purchase them from the US.

    Cheers

nothing like watching a movie on a PJ.

If you have any questions I will be more than happy to help although I am far from an expert myself.

I hvae had a PJ for about three months and its amazing what you learn and what this forum can offer you.

Enjoy the Z1, a cracking PJ.

Im afraid there is currently no PAL AViA Disc.

The DVD will set you image up for the NSTC Standard, perfect for playing Region 1 DVDs through your projector, not as good for Region 2. This is mainly due to the Difference in black levels between the formats.

Video Essentials 2 (AViA's Competitor so to speak) should be realesed on the PAL Format.

If you do want an AViA DVD see my thread in the power buy section.

And have fun with your new projector, movies on a TV will never be the same :smashin:
