Don't know if any of you could point me in the right direction.

Recently loaded some camcorder footage and saved as an AVI.
When I try to play this or other AVIs or WMVs my computer crashes, it plays DVDs fine.

Tried loading new codecs with no luck.

    Thanks in advance.

When you say crashes. just hangs or does the computer blue screen?
Certainly look at your graohucs card drivers and make sure they are up to date.

I get a blue screen crash occasionally when I run soem aivs or mpgs but this is down to a faulty graphics card which I will be replaceing.
