I like the podcast too much to stop listening. :)

I work in telly (for the time being at least) and get tired of hearing production library music)

There must be some musos amongst the AVForums members. Maybe you could hold a competition for someone to create a bespoke theme for you! :)

That's correct but the Han Solo movie has now been moved forward to the 25th of May 2018, I guess they feel they can get it finished earlier. The Last Jedi was supposed to open on the 25th of May of this year but that got moved back to December so they would have more time.

I forgot to mention in the podcast that my comments about Disney only having 4K versions of the special editions of the original Star Wars trilogy was based on some excellent detective work done by Bill Hunt over at thedigitalbits.

"Sounds like something that could be in a manga cartoon"

I think they already have a name for that: anime ;)

With regards to the Raspberry Pi in a Gameboy, of course that's already been done :p

Hey guys. I think you "spoiled" to much of John Wick 2.
Mention what happend in the start, revealing to much about the ending, and spoiling this and that of the middle.
Quite a few surprises I might not have when I'm going to see the movie.
      Shame on you.
I was in my car listening to the podcast. Hit mute, and unmuted several times, but you were on and on about John Wick 2 in a spoily kind of way.

I don't think we spoiled anything in the film that wasn't shown in the trailer, and I don't regard a trailer to be a spoiler. However I hope it doesn't spoil your enjoyment when you get around to seeing it, it's great, especially that bit...

In the end, the ultimate way to see a movie is to know absolutely nothing about it beforehand - but that would preclude trailers from the studio hinting at why one might want to go and see the thing in the first place!

I have to say that the guys here go out of their way to avoid spoilers - such that I'm happy to listen to them talk about films I know I want to see - and that's not something I would say about most film review shows or articles.

      Great pod guys.

Gutwrenching news about Bill Paxton. Echo Steve's comments in that he was a huge part of my (misspent) film education growing up. I only had to say 'Hicks noooo...' to my sis and she knew....Another under the radar one I enjoyed of his was 'A Simple Plan'.

As far as Star Wars is concerned, let's face it, Lucas is NEVER bringing out the originals, as he stated the 'Special Editions' were, IHO, the most complete versions.

For those interested, there are some great fan preservation's out there, especially Harmy's Despecialised Editions.

Agreed. I ended up skipping pretty much through it. Think I might just do that from now on with the film reviews. I don't watch trailers anymore specifically because some tend to give away major plot points, so don't subscribe to the it's not a spoiler if it's in the trailer theory.

Not a biggie though, I can easily skip through in future.

Yes he was great in A Simple Plan and if you haven't seen Frailty check it out, Bill not only stars in it with Matthew McConaughey but also directed it.

Understood. However, i think the situation is far more complicatedthan that, with the distribution rights to the original trilogy still residing with 20th Century Fox until 2020, not Disney. Plus, Lucas claiming when he made the Special Editions, that the original negatives were permanently altered. (I call bulls***)

      Only time will tell.

I got this as well @Phil Hinton.

I listened to it, missed Ed hugely, then managed to force the download of the proper one.

Which was laugh out loud hilarious. The podcast increasingly has that "mates into AV talking bollocks in the pub" vibe to it, especially when you're drinking.

      Find your local Eastern European supermarket and make inquiries- it's bloody lovely;

For the record, the next podcast is being recorded at 10am after which I'm seeing a solicitor (for non podcast related reasons). For the avoidance of all doubt, the strongest liquid I'll imbibe during that is Lavazza.

Based on the observation about Corvettes are recent car deliveries now viewed as a missed opportunity?

Great podcast, really enjoyed it. Viewed John Wick 2 and Logan today. Both very enjoyable and entertaining in there own ways. Lot's of head shot kills as mentioned in John Wick, quite a bit of head slicing off and kills in Logan also. A good afternoon at the cinema and a great podcast. Cheer's lad's.

Just remembered Bill Paxton's best line from Aliens -

" stop your grinnin' and drop your linen - found 'em! "

      Classic. Always loved that.

Top shelf podcast as always gents; I like the new intro...The actual podcast content thankfully remains the same!

Cannot see @Mark Botwright abstaining from the Switch with Zelda getting 10/10 across the board. Love the Wii U and now really liking the Switch too..wont bother with a PS4 Pro.

I listened to the bit about Zlaty Basant just as I was passing the Czech shop so pulled over and asked for it and the lady said a four pack was six quid. I said fair enough so she bagged it up and when I got it home it appeared that the stuff was 10% alcohol ! Before blowing my brains out, a bit of research revealed it's called "10 Degrees" and it was in fact 4.3%. Phew....
