      Liked the talk on monster heavy Hi Fi stuff ! My contributions are: the monster 44Kg Denon AVC-A1XVA, which is still running perfectly in my household after nearly 10 years daily service. Have to upgrade it soon to get 4K etc, I guess, but I know it's replacement won't have the socketry that this one has - specifically the digital audio out ones. My other monsters are two elderly IMF "transmission line" speakers, which take up far too much room, but I would never sell ! Great podcast guys - always a good laugh on a Monday morning.

      To the Guy with the brilliant Scottish accent. (sorry, names defeat me)
      If you go to the well known auction site beginning with "e", you will find a special polish for acrylic type plastics. This stuff is called "Xerapol". I used it on my second hand Rega deck as it had some real bad scratches and was badly scuffed all over. This stuff works, in fact it's unbelievable! My lid now looks brand new. This might make it easier for you to find the Technics deck you want so badly. Err, no, I don't sell it and have nothing to do with making the stuff. It just works better than I could ever have imagined.

      I hope this helps,

      Voxsmart.

      On every one of these Podcasts for ages, every time Phil Hintons audio is to the front, there is horrible clicking background noise that sounds like he is sitting on a steam engine going over track sections. Used to sound like furiously rubbing something but not so much now :D

      Great podcast gents ( again ) and it provided plenty of laughs whilst I was draining an unvented water tank. The discussion on the Oppo was very informative and it will be a serious consideration when I upgrade my screen - once current developments ( dynamic HDR etc ) settle down. The build quality sounds excellent and I can't wait for your test review.

      In case you did not spot this article, you now need to factor in holographic TVs in your thoughts.
      BBC experiments with ‘Holographic’ TV

      Interesting to hear about the filming for Transformers - Will Gazza appear in the background trying to bring peace to the situation armed with his fishing rod and a takeaway?

      Very restrained discussion about knobs and your personal preferences. Amazed it did not descend into a conversation that could have featured on an episode of Are you being served?

      Can we have spoiler alerts when Steve talks about movies in the future?

      Ed - Thanks for the Spotify playlist, I am now a follower, albeit under a different user name.

      Good luck with your cinema passes. :facepalm:

      The Sound Advice piece will go up pretty soon. The Dead Can Dance record is available HERE (make sure you have a listen on a streaming service first as it isn't everybody's cup of tea). According to Wiki;

      Cheers

      Another great podcast, thanks everyone. Helps me cope with the drudgery of my 10k run.

      Also a second vouch for Jean Claude Van Johnson. It's on Amazon just now under a pilot trial (a single half hour episode). I urge everyone to watch it. It is brilliant.

      @Ed Selley

      Just caught up on last weeks podcast, the Nightrider playlist on Spotify is terrific.

      Thanks for the heads up!

      Great podcast as always guys!

      @Ed Selley

      On the subject of turntables, have you looked at or reviewed in that past any of the Audio-Technica turntables?

      I purchased an 'AT-LP120USBC Direct Drive Professional Turntable' a couple years ago for about £280.

      Enjoying being able to play my old collection and adding to it, but was concerned if using a less expensive range turntable would have longer term wear effects on my collection. Do you think this would be an issue?

      Thanks!

      I reviewed the LP5 and liked it very much. I would not be concerned with playing any record I owned on a correctly setup example. Furthermore, it responds exceptionally well to upgrades too.

      @Ed Selley ,

      Excellent, thanks!

      Reading your review there are fair amount of similarities between the two, with the direct drive, feet design, and the interchangable stylus being a couple. The LP120 has an S-shaped tone arm (apposed to the J-shape) with adjustable tracking force and anti-skate adjustment. The LP120 is signifiantly heavier but will perhaps help stability?

      I must admit I am really happy with the LP120, but thought it worth checking with the experts.

      Thanks again
      Chris

      Thanks again folks. I always enjoy these. I'm halfway through at it appears there's no star wars news. In case it's a bit dry on this front, i thought the following would help you for next week.

      Disney to release new Star Wars film every twenty minutes

      Should we think about having a competition for the the most expensive visit to see a crap film, for those on monthly passes? It would surely cost @Phil Hinton over 50 quid to see Bridget Jones' baby?
