Top work chaps, thank you .

Top Gear vs The Grand Tour... I'll probably end up watching both; I'd watch Top Gear in the new format for the cars regardless of the presenters. Having Harris Monkey in the fold was a coup for the Beeb. A top notch driver and a cracking presenter. I think it'll work out better than expected, as long as Evans

If the cinematography is up to scratch, job's a good'un. My all-time favourite piece would the rooftop shots from the old television centre feature with Dougie Lampkin [IMG].

Off topic slightly; Shmee150 - Tim's a good lad, there's a plan to hook up at some point to film some stuff with the Corvette (you heard it here first). Haven't spoken to him since before Christmas though.

The AVR group test sounds like a good one, looking forward to that. I quite like the Sewell banana plugs – they aren’t cheap (£18 for 12 pairs) but they’re very well built and look great (obligatory photo below :D).

I might go and see the new X-Men; I thought First Class and DoFP were excellent, much better that the original films.

I read somewhere that original The Texas Chainsaw Massacre was getting a UHD Blu-Ray release with a 13.1 Auro soundtrack. I don’t know about the latter, I’d be fine with Atmos. The 7.1 DTS –MA is excellent, particularly the leatherface / chainsaw chase scene at the end. The 1080p transfer released from the remaster was super (given the 16mm origins).

Young Han Solo - I thought Chris Pratt would be the chap for the job, but it depends how young they're going with the back story.

Yes the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre is getting an Ultra HD Blu-ray release in Germany, not sure about here, with an Auro-3D soundtrack. I think I'll pick it up out of curiosity. As for Chris Pratt, he's too old for the age that Han will be in the new film, plus he's got his hands full playing Star Lord.

Just about to start the Podcast, but I always check the running order here.

I need to get this off my chest! Am I the only one who sees the spy from Mos Eisley in Star Wars whenever I see @Chevyonfuel avatar?

Recently discovered this podcast, great stuff!

Can only see the new Top Gear ending up a total shambles, can't help it, have zero confidence in it. Chris Harris is a good pick, the rest just seem like lunacy to me. Looking forward to GT, though, as you know what you're going to get with those man children (in a good way).

Loved Top Gear for the cars and presenters. Now having Mr Duracel at the helm it's bound to go from the dog's jewels to doggie doo. Can't stand that ego. Petrol head, nah!

Shout out from Australia! Enjoying your podcasts. I'm really looking forward to the high end AVR round-up as these are the exact AVR's I am looking at for my new HT room, which will be a 7.1.4 system.

      Another great podcast folks!

Agree about the thoughts on Top Gear and loved the cinematography aspect of some of the road tests. Other elements of the show became very predictable and the challenges had scripts that even the Chuckle Brothers would have dismissed as being ridiculous. Will watch both shows and keeping an open mind on who will get/deserve the better ratings.

Looking forward to the AVR tests as I have been holding off over the last year due to all the changes, format wars and technology products being released. I am in a similar position with my TV and want the HDR element ( HDR 10 v Dolby Vision ) to " settle down " so that I can future proof my purchase. On that note, I am sure members would appreciate a clear steer from the team when they feel products will deliver this objective. We can then pluck up the courage to get the credit cards out and face the flack from the other half, when they spot empty boxes in the garage and a new set of manuals on the coffee table.

One final request and I have not searched the website yet, guidance on the best network audio systems would be appreciated ie wireless, bluetooth and musiccast to name a few. I currently stream audio from my laptop to my hifi via an Arcam rdac wireless on occasions and want to ensure that I use the best method/quality when streaming.

At least that confirms my theory that Luke Skywalker had actually been hiding out in an Irish pub.

As Hamill shook the hands of many who had gathered he joked for them to be careful with his "removable hand".

Surprised how down on Creed everyone apart from Steve was! Given the huge critical gushing the film received and the excellent box office the film did, I would have thought you chaps would be curious about seeing it.

Am I right in thinking that with F. Gary Gray's Straight Outta Compton and Ryan Coogler's Creed, 2015 is the first time two African-American directors have had films which broke the $100 million barrier? Crazy to think that it is.

Great pod cast again, one of my favourites and the banter is second to none.

Looking forward to the AVR group test in the hope it will help me find my next AV Amp (Fingers crossed...).

The good news is I have changed the system twice in the last 5 years in the living room and the other half did not even notice, thus hoping I can get a new AV in the front room set up and working while she is having her hair done, trust me it take about 12 hours so plenty of time to set up and hide the box in the garage...

Only a simple thing but thank you for the info on the banana plugs.

I recently purchased a new Panasonic 55CX802 4K TV to replace a 50 inch Panasonic plasma in the lounge.

I didn't tell my wife (I never do when it comes to tech, I feel bad about not being 100% accurate regarding the price!). I bought it on a Saturday afternoon whilst she was out (that sounds terrible, but it wasn't planned!), and had it swapped out before she was home.

Despite the increase in size, and starting to use its smart features etc, she didn't have a clue what had transpired!

I actually had to TELL her (3 weeks later), as I've just redecorated my sons room and he has inherited the plasma. Even then she couldn't tell he'd went from a 40 inch TV to a 50! It had been boxed up in the garage!

I'm guessing that they're holding off so that the Pioneer review gets its time to shine, if they had put the AVR Group Test out on Monday plenty of people wouldn't have bothered to read the Pioneer review and just read the big one.

AV podcast the other week was saying that they were going to start a how to section on AV setup and asked for listeners to give their thoughts on AV setup.

Well my thought is when you have got it all setup just sit back and enjoy it as I cannot tell you how many times I have put a movie on only to start messing on with picture setting, sound settings and by the time I have done that I am no longer in the mood to watch a movie.

Now I just put the disc in and watch the movie, I want to enjoy the quality of the equipment that I have and enjoy the movie without worrying if the picture is absolutely perfect of the surround channels are not pumping out enough for my liking.

I think the reason I enjoy it more now is because it took me 10years to complete my gale speaker setup as when I first bought my floorstanding speakers and subwoofer, Gale ended up discontinuing the model and so I have spent ages watching ebay for the centre, surrounds, and rear speakers that match the range I have.

I wont be going 4K as I have invested a lot in HD-DVD, only buy 3D bluray where you get the 3D disc, 2D disc, DVD and digital copy as I think that is good value.

Not only that but I think I have AV upgrade exhaustion, as you get to a certain age you get tired of chasing the technology just to keep up.

Anyway the moral of my comment is just sit back and enjoy your home cinema no matter how you have it, that way you get the most out of it.
