Just booked the 23rd off
I'll do the same.
I will arrange to get the day off and let both Preston and Adrian know as well if that is looking like the preferred date?
If it is the date, it looks like I will be playing the day before as well with a few guys from the golf forum I am on
Looks like the 23rd then.
Are we sorted on the venue? Morley Hayes?
Since the min booking for the society rates is 12 (with 12 having to be paid for no matter what), i'll request that i settle that a bit nearer the time (since we're not close to 12 yet).
Main thing is to get a few (3) tee times reserved for the Friday morning (10 ish?).
What's the non society rate?
Looks like we have a possible 8/9 atm:
Signs, if he can appear from nether
CSS + Preston,
Fadgewacker, hope alls going well with D-Day fast approaching
So 12 might be a stretch, but 3 tees is a good idea, we may get up a couple more entrants with May 23rd being over a month away.
I believe it's £24. Probably works out a few quid more doing everything individually rather the package price.
I am still okay with £24 at Morley Hayes if everyone else is and I guess it also means we have choices for food after if we just order from the bar menu
My only request would be to try and make sure the tee times aren't any earlier than 10am if possible
Got a round with Preston this weekend so will speak to him about it then and I will drop Adrian a text to see if he can make it and let you know
Edit - And I can confirm I am playing the day before at Rockliffe Hall as well, so hoping for a good couple of days golf
Definitely interested but a 10am tee off may be a bit early for me! ( Yes I am a lazy git!)
I'll be travelling down from sunny Teesside but the day before I'm 'doing' the European Elections so may have a very late night. Although I could always drive down afterwards and kip in the back of my van, I suppose
I'll contact the club and see about 3 x t times for + 10am.
I have heard from Adrian, he can't make it as he already has stuff booked in at work
Playing golf with Preston on Sunday so will let him know the details
First post updated with time and to remove some of the info about the other courses.
They already had a few reservations for that morning but have managed to get 3 x tee off times in successions from 1052 am onwards.
Nice one Dom, do you need any funds up front or pay on the day?
Nothing at the moment Toasty.
Unless we get our numbers up to 12, it'll be pay on the day.
If we can get to 12 then i'll ask them about pre booking bacon cobs/dinner etc which will then require some upfront payment.
Nice tee-times there Dom, not too early for those with a long drive, but still early enough to ensure we will be finished at a reasonable time as well
Preston is checking with work to see if he can get the day off so as soon as he lets me know, I will post back with his answer
Played at the weekend, but conditions were bad and my back was giving me problems so couldn't put a swing on the ball at all and shot 14 shots worse than my last round with a 95. Hoping to play again this Sunday but hoping my back is sorted as it is still giving me some trouble
Spoke to Preston about the day while we were playing golf on Sunday and he can't make this date either, so I will be turning up on my own this time
I chucked my 3 cards in for my handicap at the weekend and the club have said they are putting me down for a 14 handicap, so not a bad start to the year I guess considering my aim is to get as close to single figures as I can by the end of the year
Its 23rd May, Morley Hayes, first tee time is 10:52. See first post for links.
Might be worth doing a roll call of who is confirmed, me for one
Me for 2
Yup, I will be there unless I throw my clubs away as playing the day before as well.....so if I have a bad round there is plenty of water to throw the clubs in
There's a bit of water at Morley Hayes so you can come always dump your clubs there
Hell there's actually water on the 1st
Sorry but due to work commitments I'm out of this one. Hope to catch you all next time round.
Only a couple weeks to go so thought I would give this a little bump back to the top for everyone
I am not expecting too much from my golf at the moment, as I am working through a bit of a swing change - nothing too drastic but enough to just throw me off slightly at the moment until I get used to it
Although, once sorted it should help with consistency and I suspect it could actually gain me some extra distance with each club as well so I am hoping it won't take too long to get it working
I finished last season on 14, have high hopes for this season, but a poor start sees me staring at going up to 15. Could do with a couple of good rounds to boost confidence. Shame, as individual shots have been fairly good, its just been a matter of bringing all together over 18 holes.
Looking forward to Morley though, hope weather holds up
Have not played since the last day.
Was hoping to get a round in but too busy with other things :-(
Still have only 4 confirmed on the front page. Might be 1 * Four ball at this rate!
Have a great day guys. Good to see this day is still thriving. Enjoy!
Still going but not sure about thriving! Might only need 1 tee of time at this rate
Had to give the golf course an update this morning.
Told him I'm not 100% we'll need 3 tee off times but I'll know more next week. Fine with that.
Toasty. Do you have Robs number? I appear to have lost it. Do you know/can you check if he's coming?
I can possibly bring a work mate to make up the numbers.
No, sorry, I don't have his number, I tried to get him via facebook but failed. I thought he'd have reappeared by now, but it looks like he's on a more permanent vacation from AVF
He can still viewing the forums though right? Or is his ISP number blocked
Hey Rob. You still got my number? Give me a call/drop me a text.
Not sure if this is still going ahead but after just having a week in Portugal I'm snowed under at work so can't make it....sorry everyone.
