    Hi folks,

I don't know what I am supposed to search for here so looking for help.

My pressure washer works but the issues are:-

The lance comes in 2 parts and when you assemble the lance the water comes out of the join.

The soap bottle won't stay on the lance (thread?)

I'm not too fussed about the bottle, what would fix the leak?

As a quick bodge try tightly wrapping the join in (lots of) PTFE tape, then wrap again with electrical tape to give it some strength and give it a go, see what you get?

The PTFE will probably work for the thread on the soap bottle too. Just 1 or 2 layers around the male thread should help..

If the PTFE helps but doesn't cure the leak, have another go but this time add some Instant Gasket into the equation. ;)

Is there an O ring missing around the male part of the lance? Similar to the black ring at the base of this picture.

That might be it, there isn't the same resistance when joining the two halves of the lance.

How would I measure and buy such a thing?

I am sure if you go on the manufacturers website they will have a parts list for every model. It's a common thing for the o ring to go so will be readily available at all good retailers ;)

I think you can buy a mixed pack of various sizes on amazon. I'd just buy that for a few quid and then trial and error. Or go to B&q and liberate one of the hoselock display. I wouldn't. But I might.

It's one of these unbranded affairs, perfectly adequate for me given my dad gave it to me.

I've actually got these for the tap to pressure washer bit, the good ones and the poop.
