Questions, questions, questions!
Is this a draw, no contest or a knockout?
NO answers yet? Well I guess i'll have to give it a go then.
I would say it's not really fear to compare them as the Denon is twice the price.
I have used HCC as the source here as they have tested both models, but the Pioneer wasn't the "s" model, whats the difference?
AVC A11SR got 5 stars all over.
VSX-D2011 got 4 stars on sound, 5 stars on build and features.
Power, fidelity firewall:
AVC A11SR: 156watt
AVC A11SR has more in and outs, but how many do you need, i use half of them. (I have the AVC A11SR)
It all comes down to what you actually need.
The VSX-D2011 has some features the AVC A11SR does'nt, but the AVC A11SR is built to a higher standard (THX Ultra).
On the picture it looks like the VSX-D2011 has a fan, thats baaaad.
What is you current system, speakers, DVD, TV/PJ, etc.?
This should at least give this thread a start.
People should stop posting topics such as 'A11SR vs 3803'. The A11SR costs twice as much so obviously it will sound better. So what if the 3803 has newer dac's and processor, does that automatically mean it will sound better? What would be more interesting is to find out what is the better amp between the 3803 vs VSX-D2011. If people are comparing amps, then they should compare amps in the same price bracket. The A11SR is an 'High-End' amp. The 3803 & VSX-D2011 are mid-high-level.
Exactly That's why we ask the questions if we don't know the answers.
Thanks for taking the time to offer your comments, magking
I have sold my A/V cinema in the past two weeks. I had a tag pro/amp combination with a B&W CDM package. I am looking to down grade to something less expensive, more discreet but equally something I will be happy with. Whilst one could hardly be regarded as 'slumming' it with the D2011-S (it's a damn fine unit) I just keep thinking I should push the boat out further and opt for the Denon. And then there's the speakers to sort out.......................
