Ashford Argos had 31 delivered yesterday.

They had 7 left in stock after I bought one at almost closing time.

Oh, the price is a bit confusing. The catalogues have stickers on saying the price is £138.75. But when you pay, they are £99.99.

Plus of course you get a £5 voucher, or £10 if you add something on to take the purchase over £100.

For children it almost certainly has to be a PS2, although personally i wont touch one with a barge poll!

Doesn't stop my kids wanting one though....and one they will be getting for xmas.

THe youngest loves vice city, so she says...and all she does is hijack a bus and parks it at a bus stop for people to get on!! :rotfl:

    :hiya: Horny!

No success today.....Big W Newport was supposed to have some today. Called this morning to be told they had 4 yesterday, and delivery due this afternoon - ring at 3pm. Rang to be told delivery arrived, 5 received, 20 people waiting.... :thumbsdow :thumbsdow Big W told not to expect any more before Christmas.....

Argos in Newport, 4 yesterday, no idea when any more.

Local games shop in Blackwood - received their delivery, but all allocated. Still waiting to hear what they will get next week. Apparently Currys and Woolies also had 5 each this morning...... :( :(

So it seems you just have to be at the right place at the right time....

Wonder if I could find out who delivers them, and then follow the truck..... ;)

Game in Tunbridge Wells had some delivered today. But the delivery didn't even satisfy half the waiting list they had.

Dixons TWells, no idea if they will get any more before XMAS.

Woolworths TWells, they hope to get some but not sure on date.

Argos TWells, no sign - couldn't get to a staff member to ask as they were too busy

Argos Ashford - all gone. They had 31 delivered Monday morning, 7 left at the end of the day. All gone the following day, and no idea if they will get more. If only I'd bought the other seven when I got one on Monday. :clown: :suicide:

I "think" I've got one.........

Just went on Dixons website and they have a package, including st. wheel, dvd remote, and something else (£60 pkg) for £157. IN STOCK!!

Couldn't believe what I was seeing so rang their order line to check, and they confirmed yes, its in stock, yes its the new slimline PS2, and yes I could order one and it will be delivered in 5-7 working days......

So I've ordered it.........but will it turn up?????????

(PS quite happy to have the extra's as we have none of them already so will get some use)

Edited to add, "something else" was another control pad  Same offer is also on Currys site if thats preferable to anyone.....

    Good Luck to us all!!

Great deal. They are like gold dust. God knows why. If you have got one you have done well judging by the stock situation. I sold mine on EBay with GTASA, Extra Controller, Memory card and Scart for £200. More than I paid for it new ! People are paying over £200 just for the new slim console on its own on there at the moment. + Shipping. Crazy.

 Hooray! I had mine delivered this morning - purchased from www.pcworld.co.uk at 2am on Monday morning, just happened to be surfing and got lucky! I noticed they had them in stock this morning, part of a bundle with a dance mat I think, not sure of exact details but I think it was £149.99. Hope this helps!

i think so, ive read people ordering the vertical stand for it, but i cant help but think how crap it would be due to the lid opening.

It can be mounted vertically but apparently there is a real shortage of the stands.

i didn't realise it uses a lid style mechanism, quite retro! If there is a silver version out soon i may get one for another room. It's easy to understand why the PS2 is still selling so well: the catalogue of games which is more varied than the xbox and GC. The hardware itself is getting long in the tooth but then it's only a year or so until the PS3

Looks like they are in stock at www.boots.com - has been saying "stock coming soon" for a couple of days and you can't add it to your basket - checked this morning and you can add it so I guess they are in stock

Use voucher code HFDM48 or SABH82 to get 10% off making it about £94 incl delivery :smashin:

Game have limited stocks of the PS2 in now, but they're only selling them as part of a bundle - there are four different bundles displayed, each with a selling price of around £240.

Daylight robbery, if you ask me - taking advantage of people's desperation for the PS2 to shift some of their less desirable stock!

amy... yup, I've just go the email from Game telling me that as I 'registered' my interest I can have access to a page other customers won't see. And yes, they're taking the p*ss if you ask me, only offering bundles. They know people want them for their children for x-mas and are really playing on that desperation. Well, I'm not falling for it. If I don't find the console for about £100 before x-mas elswhere, then my son is getting an X-BOX, he's not really bothered what he get's.
