    Hi Folks,

I'm a regular reader, don't post as often as I should but thanks to those who do, it's helped my decision a lot.

Rang Chris at AV Sales this lunchtime re: PW7 / PHD8. He went away as Panny were delivering PHD8s that day. One hour later he rang back, confimed they had arrived and i placed the order with a delivery for tomorrow  Good price and very helpful.

I will post more info and pics when set up, any questions feel free, i'm not a noob but certainly no expert. I won't be putting Hi def thro yet (Fview and interlaced DVD thro Component-VGA) no plans for XBox 360 (wish my 2.5 yr old son was older, bloody midget) but will tell all my experiences.

BTW He did have some unallocated units left (think 3) so be quick !!!

    Regards

    Andy Dodds

Had 3 days with it so far, my initial impressions are:

I'm delighted with it (and I'm v fussy, 3 months of serious deliberation before I bought), reasons:

    1) Black bezel/Silver stand looks great - wife happy.
    2) Black levels - lots of info on forums but looks black to me.
    3) Skin tones - no waxy appearance, common on plasmas I've seen.
    4) Great with DVD but OK even with fview on S-video
    5) Doesn't take over the room like a PV500 would.
    6) Modular - I like the flexibility, one day may need 3 x HDMI but will never need another SCART ever, why buy a TV with 1 x HDMI and 3 scarts.

    Overall - absolutely delighted !!!!

    Regards

    Andy

Do you hear a buzz? Does the fan run constantly?

Don't hear a buzz, have been asked this recently. No noticeable fan noise either, although ears will now be tuned for this - if it does I will send my wife to kill you :)

Only repetitive noise so far is a loud cheering as I repeatedly play 51-59 mins of the Champs Lge final DVD

    Pics to follow.

A second request for any views on the buzzing of the set, or not as the case might be.

I had a Series 6 50" Panny which drove me nuts so it had to go...had Panasonic round who said it was within spec but sounded like I had a bad case of tinitus to me...would dearly like another plasma but I just hate the buzzing they all seem to make - but I guess I am overly sensitive to it.

    Cheers, Lee
