Hi, I am about to purchase an Arcam AV8/P7/DV29 combo and just wanted to know which speakers should I get. My room is 5 by 5 meters, at the moment I am planing to get one of these 5.1 setups:

    B&W 804S fronts
    B&W 805S rears
    B&W HTM4S
    ASW855

    OR

    KEF 203 fronts
    KEF 201 rears
    KEF 202C
    PSW4000

Also for the cables I am planing to get them either from chord or audio quest (haven't decided which models yet).

    Opinions & suggestions please

Many Thanks for your help :smashin:

Both sets of speakers are really accomplished, although I would avoid the KEF sub :) Also keep in mind thats a really big set of speakers for your room so I would be thinking hard about how to control room modes especially with a big sub. I think s BFD will be required  The best advice is to have a listen to both sets yourself. Are you buying from Sevenoaks by any chance?

How many other makes have you considered?

Personally, that choice seems so stereotypical.

Have a look at the likes of PMC, Dynaudio or my favourite ATC for example.

Also, have you considered using the AV8/DV29 with good active speakers?

Genelec or ATC again for example. I think you might be suprised at just how good that will sound.

I just don't want you to end up with the same as everyone else just because it's the most popular combination. B&W and KEF are good, but there are plenty of others that better them for the same money imho.
