    Hi all,

I have an AV32R (7.1 THX EX) and have been considering the upgrade to AV32R-bp192 DP (with 5.1 analogue bypass). Of course we all know the TAG/IAG issue, does anyone know if this upgrade path is still available, and roughly how much it will cost?

    Thanks!

    Alex

    Hi,

The upgrade path is still available. (since there is no real TAG / IAG issue :)

BTW, good decision if you go for the DP: You won't regret!

price: I don't know, contact the helpdesk or your dealer for this.

forgive me if i am wrong but from:

    AV32R 192 BP 7.1Ex - AV32R dual proccessor is £1650 but first you need

    AV32R 7.1Ex - AV32R BP 7.1Ex which is £1095

    Dacs 192 £475.00
    Bypass 5.1 £685
    Old unit 18 Months + £199.00

But done together they cost £845 + £199.00 + Shipping

Also another convert from SP to DP, its well worth it.

You could consider my course of action, sell the SP and buy a 2nd hand DP. My upgrade this way cost less than £1k :)

My understanding was that the price was regardless of age (apart from the 199 for 18 months +) - When I asked I said my AV32 had 192 dacs 7.1 etc (thinking price might go down) and they said it didn't matter, it was the same price regardless. I would only pay more if the unit was older than 18 months. Worth giving them a call though and checking.....

Just re read this post this cannot be right:

    Vanilla circa 2000 AV32R converted to AV32 BP 192 Dp £1650

    Circa 2003 AV32R 192 Dacs BP Converted to AV32 BP 192 Dp £1650

If thats right a lot of us have made a expensive mistake

Tag/Iag Parts list for old unit:

    Bypass pcb
    192 Dacs
Rear panel to accept 5.1 Bypass
    Dual processor board
And all the wiring labour etc

Tag/Iag Parts list for much newer unit:

    Dual processor board
    And the labour.

We might have all saved a fortune by sending our old Av32R's for upgrade to dual Procs instead of buying new units.

And how many people would have upgraded to 192 Dacs for the price if for a little extra we would have the full monty :rotfl:
