Just a quick question for those that have one....I've just bought one of the HiFiBitz AV32R-192bp processors with the DP option.....does the DP option require the 7.1 upgrade also,or will it work with 5.1 processors as well....?

As someone in the same boat as you, it will work 5.1. You just can't use the 7.1 modes like PLIIx, DTS-ES etc (rather obvious that!). TMREQ will work just fine.

May I ask a silly question; I'm a newbie to HC, and have ordered a DVD32FL and a AV32R-192bp DP as well as a 100x5R, I have a nice 2 channel system, but this'll be the first HC system I've had.

The question is; do I need 7.1 upgrade? Does it add extra functionality (other than the extra 2 channels?); or should I stick with 5.1 until I have the space (& speakers) for a 7.1 system.

I am concious than the upgrade will not be available for ever.... and that is equipment is at a good price, and ultimatly, 7.1 may increase both the longevity and re-sale value of the kit.

    Thoughts?

The 7.1. model differs in that it has 7 outputs! the 7 channel surround modes can be used......... and it has the row of action trigger switches. That is about it.

Sevenoaks Cambridge have some AV32DP coming in shortly.

I have ordered a black one with 7.1 option - the price is GBP2700 - this sound like a good do to me.

As I didn't need the extra options on the AV192, and the rogues who now own TAG probably won't be bringing out an more options I thought this was the best route.

Can't wait to get the advantage of TMREQ.
