20170609_150946.jpg As with everyone else, I was having problems finding a unit that was deep enough for my equipment. So I ended up making my own. I ordered the ironmongery online and got a solid wood worktop cut to size at B&Q. The shelves are 1000mm by 500mmby 27mm, the heights are 230mm and 160mm.

And with my equipment on it. Forgive the mess this was eventually tidied up. 20170609_201042.jpg

Thanks Roohster, was hoping to have it 1.2m wide, but wasn't prepared to pay an extra £100 to get the 4m worktop.

Looks good, would you care to give a rough estimate of costs?

No problem @Kyle009, the worktop (3m by 600mm) was solid beech, £94 and the ironmongery was £130 delivered. The posts I had from an older hifi unit. Took a couple of hours marking out and screwing all the screws in.

Thanks for that, looks good and actually works out fairly cheap!

Looks great, I think the key to a good looking custom unit is the posts. Can you remember where you got them?

Thanks INXS, they came from a 4 shelf, glass hifi unit I got from Argos about 9 years ago. You should be able to buy steel tubing from any ironmongery shop or plumbers merchant.
