After spending months on mags shops and this forum I have finally mustered up 3000 pounds to spend on a system. Heres the supposedley type of kit i think I want, opinions please?

    1) Denon 3910
    2) Denon 3805
    3) Monitor Audio Radius 270 system with MJ REF 100 sub

I have demo'd this and sounds excellent.

Any other combinations I should demo b4 I take the financial plunge?
PS advice on cables would be useful if poss. :lease:

    Hi Drunkenmaster

I'm hoping to buy a similar system to you. Denon 3805 and Monitor Audio Radius speakers (270 fronts, 225 centre and 180 rears) and MJ Ref 200 sub. Are you going for the 90's or 180's for your rears?

Re DVD, I'm not sure whether to go for Arcam 78 or Denon 3910.

You asked about cable. I've decided on either Chord Carnival Silver Plus or Chord Rumour.

    Cheers

    Dr F

My friend has bought this little lot... similar to you... I would audition the Quads before you take the plunge. Not sure which cables he has gone for though. Think if you are going for 3805 then worth getting matching 3910.

    Denon 3805
    Denon 3910
    Panasonic AE700
    Quad Home Cinema Pack (11L, 12L, 11C, L)

Check my signature. It's very similar... what's your intended display device? I bough I PJ which took me to 3.5K. For 2.5K you get the 2910 / 2805 and a set of MA's or Castles.

I was very temtped by the 3805/3910 combo. I stepped down and am quite glad I did. There is more than enough delivery in the 2805/2910 combo IMHO. It's worth cjecking them out.. you may not see much difference, if any, and save yourslef a bit of cash to put towards something else as I did. Really, I couldn't justify the extra for the Denon Link and marginally better DAC's.

    Thanks for the advice.
Doctor Furby: Most likely the 90's as space is limited wall mounting!!
Guido: Did look at the quads-going above my budget but mighty tempting
Digisocialist(cool name): Nice sig My display at the mo is pana 36pd30 but am looking at updating in a couple of years. Sensible thinking.
