It's been talked about for a while on the other forum

I guess Thomas will be getting a few paypal payments in the next few days.

No floppy since the VFD needs that space. Not really needed -- use a bootable CD instead for BIOS upgrades etc.

I've got the same problem. Which colour? My setup will be:

    Denon AVR-3802 (black or gold)
    HTPC (black, silver or gold)
    TiVo (Silver only)
    Digibox (Black or silver)

    Argh! Decisions...

How does the VCFD work, do you need to get some special software?

It also mentions an IR remote sensor as an option. Anyone know if this will just requite girder and a Pronto to get it to work?

    Cheers

I think it depends on what VFD display that u use. Do a search on VFD display on avsforum, I am sure u will find most of the member use maxobital.

Anyone ordered one? I'd not even be too bothered about the LCD screen, and IRMAN can control the Remote functions.

Is there any alternative, just a plain Black case with a single central flap for the DVD slot would be good!

Why is is euro 199 when it's only $145 for US orders?

Euro199 is $175 dollars I beleive, so we're paying $30 more in europe!!!

    Stange?

I've got my stupid head on today, it's VAT that makes the difference.

I think that it includes VAT, I dont know what the implications of buying VATable goods are in the EU though.

D'oh, I went away to make a drink before posting and you beat me to it!!

Just placed an order for a Silver one. I assume it's the left hand button at the bottom of the form.

EDIT - How long does it take for the order confirmation e-mail to come through?
I'm assuming it's not an automated system as it hasn't turned up yet and the confirmation page was in german so I haven't got a clue what it said.

Yes I didn't quite understand it either, is it saying that you agree to give him your house with all your possessions or without?

From what I've seen so far it looks as though they are made in Korea.
I've not a problem sending off my money as it's only £150 (not being flipant or anything but it's hardly £1000's being risked).

I submitted the order form earlier today but am yet to receive the e-mail with the payment details in it.

I placed an order for a black one about 24 hours ago, and haven't yet got the confirmation email.

Does anyone know whether the front panel will take an 80mm case fan?

I ordered on the 23 rd, 5 days ago, not had an email confirmation or request for payment yet.

Maybe Thomas is waiting until he has enough orders to fill a container before he asks for the money.

Sounds reasonable enough. No point in collecting the money if there are not enough people to support the "power buy" or whatever it's called.

Got a reply to my order :)

    QUOTE

    Hi,

Thanks for taking part of this power buy.

This e-mail contains NOT your order number, it just verify that your order
    has been received.

We will gather all orders until the 18th of april, then we will recalculate
shipping costs, etc. based on the amount of orders we got totally.

You will receive then you personal order number and payment details.

Aprox. delivery time is end of may. It will take 2 weeks to produce the case
and about 3 weeks to get the container over here. And about 2-5 days to get
    all orders shipped out.

Do don´t expect it before end of may.

If you have any questions pls. contact us with e-mail.
If you ordered 2 or more cases you will get this e-mail for every order you
placed. So you can check if all orders have been received.

    Thanks,
    Take care
    Thomas

Have received this too. Two months to wait but given the quality I think I'll manage. At least I'll have it in time for when I move out into my first house :)

Ok sorry to be boring or predictable or one of those things i'm sure I am!

I have had plan for scalers, video processors or HTPC for some time, but never gotten myself into gear! This case might be what gets me there! Though to buy it i would really need to stab in the dark a bit.

What specs i will build I do not yet know, though deinterlacing laserdiscs and playing dvds will be the only use.

But questions about the case are what i need answered. The floppy disc thing......my lack of a dvd writer to make bootable cds maybe awkward, but i am assuming that is a minor point? The display thingy, it says 'ATTENTION !!! ONLY AT THIS SAMPLE POWER CONNECTION IS THROUGH THE PS 2 BUS !!', now i dont quite follow the meaning! Basically, does that mean that the display will plug easily into my mobo? I'm also thinking that ther is the IR reciever built in?

I think thats about it, all I really am needing is someone to tell me that the display doesnt need all sorts of other bits bought, and the lack of floppy wont be a difficulty!

    Many thanks!

You can connect a floppy while building and configuring the htpc and when yr os is installed you can remove it and finish putting the case together.

Thank you, seems perfectly viable option!

I think I will just buy one and if it all falls together, great, if not, i'll come crying to someone else who has one and it is working!

Is the display worth what they are charging?

So even including shipping and taxes and such, it will come in at under £200?
