Question AV Source Connection To STR1050 or XBR800

Hello all,

I recently bought an STR1050 to replace a 10 year old AV receiver. I am using it with an XBR800 TV. I also have an Amazon Fire stick, an Apple TV device and a Sony DVR. Is it better to connect the Apple TV, DVR, et al directly to the STR1050 or have them connected directly to the XBR800. Currently they are connected to the XBR800 and play through the TV to the old AV receiver.
