Has anyone seen the offer that AV-Sales have on their web page for the TH42PW7B.
They are offering it for £1654.03 with a free Terminal Board.
If this is correct then I am absolutely gutted.
I got mine form them last Tuesday for £2013!!! A £350 price difference in two weeks is tough to take.

Just imagine the price drop after christmas. :)

I'm thinking of getting the PDP-435XDE. AV-sales are doing it for £2863 delivered plus they'll give you £250 for your old TV. Mine just happens to be very old. :D

I don't see that offer on the website! It is still 2013 unless the offer has disappeared again! You do get one free card with it.

    Or even by February
The prices are falling so rapidly at the moment that it's difficult to decide when to take the plunge.
My problem is that I have an excellent Toshiba 29" TV, it's not widescreen though, that is worth a fraction of its cost. I'm very reluctant to get rid of it for pocket money as it has a great picture.

Just phoned AV-Sales and they said this was a limited offer for one month!

    We shall see ! ;)

What intrigues me is they STILL cannot give me a price on the 42PW7D which is really what I want.

With todays price drop on the 42PW7B - I'm convinced we'll see 7 series 42" SD Pannys of whatever type, Business or Consumer, going for around the £1600 mark BEFORE Christmas.

    Glad I waited.

Maybe it's just end of year and they want to clear stocks to improve sales figures?

Either way, it's good news for us all! Just make sure you buy with a Barclaycard.

This has got to be a mistake. I can't believe these are going to be that cheap.

    See

    http://www.avforums.com/frame.html?...m/forums/showpost.php?p=1233376&postcount=101

    Sorry I should have said PWD7 not PW7D !

    Anyways ...

Panasonic TH-42PWD7 is the Business version not yet available (in Black and Silver?) that has some advantages outlined in the above post over the Panasonic TH-42PW7B which is the Consumer version (only in Silver!) already available.

    Hope that's correct.

    Gussie :)

The question is then is the SD PW7 worth the £100 over the PW6.

I ask as I'm hopefully ordering one in the morning from AV-Sales.

you seem to have got the two mixed up. Isn't the TH-42PWD7 consumer and the TH-42PW7B business. Is the business version as good as the consumer version for playing DVD's, games etc.?

I would say that it is as it will give the option of a HDMI input at some stage plus it's also supposed to show less colour banding/false contouring.

Also it's resale value might be slightly better.

    Cheers, Lee

Six weeks ago I paid £2013 from AV Sales.
What on earth is going on?
I have never seen such a price drop on any consumer item so soon after launch.
Has this ever happened before in the AV world?
What this has taught me is to buy av kit in January/Feb, not in the lead up to Xmas.
    Very p'd off.

Don't know now - I'm confused myself now

I took this info from the AV-Sales site.

    They show ...

TH-42PWD7 as the "Business" version in Black with price POA.
TH-42PW7B as the "Consumer" version in Silver with a new price £1654

    Have a look at

    http://www.avforums.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1218619&postcount=1

for some more confusing info !

All I know is that the "Business" model should be better in terms of image controls and PIP functionality AND more importantly I can get it in a Black finish - which is what I want!

In terms of connectivity and PQ, there is should be no difference. Pricing should be the same.

Must admit that kind of price drop is a bit gutting.

Though if it makes you feel any better, it's probably happened to all of us somewhere along the line :(

Anyone know if the 42" 7 series range offer the same PIP, POP functions across the range: PHD7, PWD7, PWB7

I'm in the same boat. Wishing that I'd used a barclay card and could reclaim the price difference! Sure we've all been stung with by a small price drop before but £300 ?!?!?!?

    av-sales customer service
    as-sales pricing policy :suicide:

    ??????

    ZedZed

    p.s. D'you think I could ebay my PW7 for more than a new one from av-sales ?!?!?!

The poster I saw in Sevenoaks said that Pioneer are offering £400 trade in for your old TV before 31st Dec 2004
