I bought a PWD6 from AV-Sales towards the end of October and ordered the RCA component board to go with it. The plasma was in but the boards were on order with Panasonic. I've now had the plasma sitting around for 6 weeks and they still haven't got any RCA component boards in. I spoke to them today and one of their technical guys said I could use the BNC board with an adapter (both of which he said they had in). So I phoned back to ask if I could pick them up tomorrow (plasma being installed on wall on Monday) only to be told these were not in stock either! I am seriously ****ed off as I'm going into hospital for an operation tomorrow, I'll then be at home recovering on Monday and Tuesday, I'll have a plasma on the wall but I can't watch it! Anyone got any ideas? HELP!!!
get the board and a new set of component cables.......RCA to BNC Van Damme from AV Sales....................don't bother with the adapters..............and you'll be set. cheers, Thomas
thats weird. I ordered a pw7 from av-sales yesterday with s-video and BNC board which will be delivered tomorrow. They haven't said anything about the BNC board not been in stock so maybe the guy at av-sales thought you meant the rca board and not bnc. I'd phone back just to check there was no misunderstanding.
smarty If your not using the HD15(VGA) socket on a 6 Series Display for a PC you simply require a 3RCA to HD15 cable and reset the VGA Input to YUV rather than the default RGBHV. A VanDamme cable will cost you around £70 and there are other alternatives. Best regards Joe
What's wrong with the adapters? If I already have a decent set of rca leads, I'd be loathe to shell out for a completely new set!
no better alternative than this, and from what it looks like, this is your only solution at the moment
Forget the RCA component board anyway as they cost around £50 more than the BNC version for some reason.
Thanks for your help guys. Alastair Collie came back to me yesterday with the offer of a dual slot BNC/composite board which I will pick up in a minute. AV-Sales come up trumps again.
