As my last post got no replies i thought i would re-post to see if this one had any luck.

I need a reciever to power my current set-up:
    Eltax Concept 400 front
    Wharfedale Diamond 8+ centre
    Wharfedale DFS-18 rear
(I also need some help on findind a sub for <£180)

I will use it mainly for music but still reasonably often for films so about 70:30 or 60:40 would be good.

I have been looking at the Pioneer VSX-D514, is it any good and please reply cos i need some help/advice.

    Thanx.

The 514 isn't bad but you can get 5p change on a Marantz SR4400 from Richer which would probably be better. Subs are harder and will need you to look 2nd hand.

Another vote for the SR-4400 from RS @ £199 (rrp £349). But RS also have the Yamaha RX-V350 for £169 which might also suit.

I've just rung empiredirect.com and they can't get any stock on the denon avr-1705!!

Does anyone know somewhere else to buy it from for £170 or is there any other options.

I'm afraid this time i've got £170 max to spend because i've just bought my Velodyne CHT-10!!

    Thanx
