    :hiya:

As above, I am looking for a receiver, up to £500 max, to match my Kef eggs (the .2's). Usage will be >95% movies/TV, so not too concerned about musical ability. I want to be able to have component in and out. Also looking for ability to control lip-sync.

I have seen the Denon 2803 going for £420 new. I was also considering the new Yamaha RXV650, but have not seen any reviews. Does anyone recommend either of these or have any other receivers I should consider.

I am not in the position of being able to road-test any equipment (for various reasons), so am heavily dependant on your views.

    Thanks. :lease:

2nd hand Pioneer 2011. No, I'm not selling mine. :)

I think the Denon 3803 does lip sync, about the same price 2nd hand.

I've had the RX-V650 for about a month now and frankly the performance so far has been flawless.
On anything which utilises 5.1 upward the amp is fantastic, like you I don't intend to use it much for music so can't comment.
The main reason for buying was for the lip synch issue and this has been solved. The other useful feature is the the mic that Yamaha supply for auto setup, I did this on day one and have gradually tweaked the sound to find my ideal prefs.
For the price I can't see that it can be beaten.

    Thanks guys.

The second hand options doesn't appeal much, unless I can get gear with at least a few months warranty remaining. I'm also looking for a quick purchase, so unless I get get lucky, it's going to be new.

Mcdaddy, thanks for the views on the Yam RX-V650 - this looks like the front runner. (By the way, are you running them it with the eggs?)

Tony, I took that attitude when I bought my first system and it cost me a lot of money for nothing. Electronic components, amps in particular, tend to last for a long time if they are well looked after. You can make your money go a lot further that way. Give it some thought. You could post a wanted ad here and see what resonses you get, you have no obligation to accept anything.
