Congratulations to everyone who worked on this new format AV Podcast.
Lots of people speaking for the first time. Awesome job, folks.

Love the new podcast, especially the length!

Only negative was the games review section, the conversation seemed a bit scripted/forced with little passion.

I can promise you, it wasn't working from any script!!! :) I think that as it was Ian's first time (and mine as such), there was probably a huge case of nerves, so there was a little coaxing by me I suppose.

However, hopefully the next podcast which we recorded the games news for last night should sound a little better.

Thanks for the feedback and am glad you like the new style!

Phil Hinton said that the Loewe Individual sound system won an award - I've been looking for reviews of this but not turned any up. Doe anyone know of any reviews?

Great podcast by the way

Oh don't get me wrong, I know it wasn't scripted but the conversation just sounded slightly robotic. As you say speaking into a microphone is awkward, something I didn't take into account in my initial critic.

Perhaps the editing didn't help either, because it was a rather short piece on X06 (although I understand that gaming may not be a huge priority).

Really glad the show is now weekly, it was an excellent podcast in it's previous form, but now it's even better

Can't edit the above post so:

German television specialist Loewe always strives for the perfect combination of design and quality in its products. With the Loewe Individual LCD televisions, using ‘HD-ready’ panels, the customer has a choice of customizable side panels in different colors and materials, including one glitzy limited edition option that includes genuine Swarovski crystal trim. A choice of stands and mounts is also available to match. The accompanying Individual Sound System can be ordered with corresponding color combinations and uses the TV’s integrated speakers for center channel sound reproduction, thus reducing the installation effort for the customer and completing one of the most aesthetically pleasing home theater solutions for the living room available today.

No problem and no offense taken :)

The actual recording of that section had around 20-30 minutes, including "cock up's" :) So yes, it was edited down to around 50% of the initial waffle - the balance was, do we make it run for 90 minutes or a more managable hour-ish. That's one of the things we've been hoping to see feedback on - if it's too long or too short.

This week's one we weren't quite so waffly and therefore there will be less cut out.

Thanks for the response.

As far as I'm concerned the length of the AVPocast could be even longer :) , as long as the quality of the content is relevant and of a high editorial standard, which based on previous episodes and the new format of #16 it has certainly maintained.

I really like how the podcast has 'chapters', so if I can't listen to the full show in one sitting, I can dip in and out at a later time.

It's my favourite podcast out of the many I'm subscribed, it's informed, intelligent and technical, yet remains thoroughly listenable and enjoyable.

It's like a audio version of Home Cinema Choice, and that's the best possible comparison I could ever give :)

Thanks for that Rupbert - it's always good to get some feedback, positive or negative as long as it's constructive.

The new format will evolve as we go along, so hopefully we'll have lots of varied topics being discussed as we gain momentum!

Just listening to the new podcast now (as I type). So far so good. Liking the new format and 1+ hour  I always felt the previous podcasts were too short and then I would have to wait another fortnight to get my AV fix. Oh BTW, will we get a podcast weekly, or are you still keeping this to two week?

Well done guys. Keep up the good work.

I agree, the podcast should be as long as it needs to be. If it doesnt cost you guys anymore to make it longer therefore a bigger file size then I would like it as long as possible. If you dont like a section you can always fast forward through it.

In general I thought it was great. A bit more details and opinions on the news would be good. I respect the guys who do the podcast and would appreciate a bit more of their opinions. Like with the news about the sharp 1080p sets, tell us what you think about this annoucement, what impact it will have on the market etc etc.

Keep up the good work

well done all....great podcast

Just catching up and really enjoyed #16.

I personally concentrate on the news and features / interviews as i stopped buying SD DVDs at the start of this year and not into gaming.

I particularly like interviews with manufactures to see what they are about to offer and their onw views and strategies. The guy from Loewe was interesting as have been people previously from Sony and Denon.

Looking forward to Mr / Mrs Pioneer on #17 !
