I made mention of a cheaper alternative to the likes of Blok that i had made in Italy and have had a few requests for pictures........ these guys were amazing -

I received photo's during the build, total cost was £550.00 and that included shipping from Italy.

I sent very basic drawings and they got it spot on. Made from Green Oak - air ports drilled in to the back (which i later found out would need fans to move the air) but that has not been an issue at all.

I can't see the photos, don't know if it's just me or if other people have the same problem. I'd like to see them, although they are likely to make me feel jealous! I just spent £1500 on a TV stand.

Damn, now that I can see the photos I *am* jealous! Wish I'd know about that a few weeks ago! Functionally, that's quite similar to what I'm getting although in the middle there will be one drawer and a space above it for the centre speaker.

I hope you enjoy your AV cabinet, it looks great.

I must admit - i did spend a very long time looking for a suitable solution (that wasn't Blok) - don't get me wrong, they are fantastic, but i could not justify the spend with a 2 week old daughter!! This to me is a great alternative and had i wanted 2 shelves or 5 or what ever - being completely bespoke i had an endless choice. Nicely finished as well - all interior fixings are brass. Hope that the guy gets something from me putting my pictures on here as i was so impressed with him (we went back for more furniture - coffee table and side table) and looking at having a matching wine rack made as well.

Thanks LCD - I agree that the website stuff is not great - he could very easily make a side business based on the quality of what he has made for me -

    Very impressed with your unit!
It's just the sort of thing I am after!
How long did it take for them to make?
Does it get hot inside with av stuff?
I may well pop into see them with some drawings as they aren't to far from me:smashin:

Hi Barry - total turnaround time was about 6 weeks, plus they sent photos throughout the build so you could see the progression.

Barry - with regards to the heat - I had vents cut in the back but they were not shifting enough air - put a plea for help on AV Forum and had a reply for a complete setup to get it all cooled down - left hand side currently houses PS3, Blueray and Pioneer box thing for my TV (it's a Pioneer PDP436 so they had not yet worked out how to get all the Gibbins inside the TV - but would not change that TV for the world!!) check my posts and you will find the complete solution plus where to buy everything..

Popped into see cesare yesterday and he was very helpfully! The price he quoted me was a little higher than expected based on your unit and price!
He did say you payed closer to £700 for the unit not £550 but even at that price the unit seems a good quality buy and I am just thinking weather to put my order in!:smashin:

Broken down mine certainly ended up at that price - I did buy a large table, side table plus discussed a dining table and wine rack which probably got the price down. Hope all goes well. He's a really nice guy - look forward to seeing the end product.

Spoke to Cesare and he quoted me for the following:

    Oak unit ,
    overall sizes W.158 D.58 H.51 with sliding doors ,
And push to open drawers with German movement
    £.795.00

I'm gonna have the height increased by couple more cm.

    Will plan a weekend visit...

    Very impressed @ddgaine.

What you have would suite my need I would if you have the dimensions?

I am thinking of maybe slightly lower, what do you think?
    Thanks
    Alex
