I am considering buying the Harman Kardon AVR3000 which I have seen for for £359. I have read some good reviews about this bit of kit but I just wondered if anyone had any opinions on a better alternative for similar money??

    Thanks :)

I Believe you may find the Yamaha RXV620RDS for @£350 is a better quality AV amp - certainly reviews very well.

In my opinion the power supply of HK is the best of Yamaha, and Marantz. The quality of MUSIC sound is very good. You can buy AVR 4000 for £380.00 from HIFI heaven. HK had bad reputation but in recent past they have improved. Please not only Marantz SR 5200will give you DPLII . Yamaha and HK 3000/4000 does not. But HK has a propritery CHIP - Logic 7 , which by experts sounds better than DPLII.

    Hope this is useful.

Logic7 is what the Lexicon processors use.
