    Wilber,

We are in a similar situation. I will buy a 6.1 receiver in the January and after months I decided for the Marantz 5300. I will use it 50% for music, 50% for DVD/home cinema.

Nothing wrong with the other amps (they are all very good actually) but personally I considered the following:

    - I excluded the Yamaha 630 because it has limited management of the delays/distances of the speakers.

    - Denon 1803 does not seam to be that good with music.

    - Marantz 4300/5300 (apparently) are pretty good with music.

    - Marantz 5300 is slightly more powerful, it has on-screen display and more in/outs.

    - Marantz 5300 is quite popular @ avforums

If I had the money I would probably buy the new Denon AVR-3803 but £900 is definitely too much for by budget.
