Hi all I am looking at getting one around the £100 mark as I dont drink alot of coffe but hate instant. The wife has black coffee so would liket o get one that either has good pods or a varied selection. I have read another thread about the tassimo but had a cup from a krups nespresso yesterday and is was not to bad. My oldies have got a philips thing that they use and like but i remember having on from that and was not very impressed.

What have you got and is it good?? eould you recomend it or rather had got something else. Also whats it like getting the pods/refills???

All comments selcome :) and I know the bean to cup ones are fantastic but I would not get the use of it + funds wont allow it ;)

Bought the in-laws a Tassimo for Christmas - they love it and my father-in-law is a fussy beggar with regard to his coffee. Cost about £90 off Teebay (new), with about 3 dozen assorted discs.

I have the Tassimo and the coffee is pretty good (and widely available), but the consumables are expensive. We use it mostly for Latte now. I actually bought it after reading a thread here about the Senseo, but when I looked at that one it seemed a bit flimsy.

we bought a tassy for work, we go to tesco one month and morrisons the next as they seem to have them on offer but not at the same time.

Tesco is 4 boxes (20 pods) for a tenner :), when the offer is on

Same in Sainsbury's, and probably others - although the number of pods you get depends on the type you buy. This way latte works out at just over 31p per cup, although they assume that people use very small cups.

    Since it's a coffee machine, they're probably assuming you're using a coffee cup ;)

Actually it can do tea and hot chocolate too. But the only 'proper' coffee cups that I'm aware of (apart from the tiny espresso ones) are the large cappaccino style ones, and the Tassimo will only half fill those at best.

Off topic I know but I was given one of those small expresso thingies for Christmas that you heat on the hob. First impressions are quite encouraging although I haven't experimented with different coffee brands yet.

Would recommend Hasbean if you're looking for a source of good freshly roasted coffee. Take a look particularly at the 'cup of excellence' coffees.
