Did you like the first two?
Any of you planning on seeing it?

I've just seen it and it was suprisingly funny at times. After the first two, one of which was funny the other was the same old jokes (depending on which one you saw first) I wasn't expecting a hell of a lot from it. But it gave me a smile on my face for most of it and a good bit of chuckling, even tho again it does reuse the same old jokes and lines.
The opening sequence was probably the best part, very funny to see some of the actors that come up.

I have the first two on VHS. I thought Austin Powers 2 was better than the first one.

I figured I'd wait for a trilogy to be released on DVD and buy it then.

Yes I enjoyed the second much more than the first too. This is certainly at least up to number twos standard, possibly better.

    I laughed my head off.

Dr Evil is so funny in it, it's the little things he does during the movie, the poor attempts at humour "Tough Sub" etc etc

Austin was more funny in this one and Goldmember also had his moments.

All played by one guy, Mike Myers he's getting better and better.

Austin Powers is fantastic. What gets me is how accuratley Mike Myers uses English terms in the right place when he's canadian. But can he ever top Waynes World? can he? eh?

I could be wrong, but I seem to remember from an interview somewhere that he was born in England or has an English background of some sort, which he said helped him in getting the English colloquisms right.

I think he did that when he brought out Austin Powers 1 ;)

After doin my homework, once again I have found you are correct squirrel god. Is there anything you don't know (except that Waynes World 1 and 2 are better than Austin Powers despite how good it is.) He's from Liverpool or at least his parents are.

Never mind his use of English terms, what about his his character Stuart MacKenzie, Charlie's Scottish father, in So I married An Axe Murderer, with his Scottish Wall Of Fame (Jackie Stewart, Sheena Easton etc) in the living room, dancing to Saturday Night by the Bay City Rollers and singing D'ya Think I'm Sexy accompanied by a bagpiper at the wedding reception.

    Inspired.

I watched Zoolander tonight. If you like Austin Powers, there's a good chance you'll like this as well. Made me laugh anyway.:D

Seen Zoolander when it was a the cinema, thought it was ace. one of those films you have to listen to to get all the jokes though, not a casual movie. But a great change from Stiller's normal physical comedy.:D

I love the AP films (not seen Goldmember yet) but Zoolander was pants IMO.

I thought So I Married and Axe Murderer was superb. My cousin and I did the 'LETS GET PISHED' bit at his brothers wedding :D .

Didn't go down to well with the parents but it was funny as hell, set the mood for the whole night. We couldn't get the piper to play 'Do ya think I'm Sexy' though.

Myers missed the target with Goldmember. Weak story compared to II. The cameo roles very funny, but it was a distraction from the story leaving the film little more than a collection of set pieces, although some were side splittingly funny. Did anyone notice that Demi Moore wasn't listed as a producer on this one?

On the plus side, Michael Cain was superb.

Goldmember will make a shed load of cash because people know roughly what to expect. But for me, AP2 was the better film.

    Regards

I thought Scott buying Dr Evil sharks with frickin' laser beams on their heads was totally, achingly funny. There were so many jokes that required watching 1 and 2 to get.

Maybe I'm wrong, but doesn't a movie producer merely bankroll the production? If this is the case, Myers is bound to have enough ready cash lying around to produce his own movies now, and he's well shot of the grossly over-exposed (and I mean that quite liderally, mate) ex-Mrs Willis.

Don't you think a major producer is going to insist on script approval before they reach for the chequebook?

If it were say $5 million of your money, wouldn't you like to be reasonably confident that you would get a good return and the project wouldn't damage your credibility (though it's a fair point about Ms. Moore's exposure).

Cinema history is littered with examples of films where the “money” influenced (or tried to) the direction of a film during production. Sometimes it's a bad thing. At other times a firm hand and outside perspective is exactly what a production needs to keep it on track.

Mike Myers is a very creative guy who has invented the Austin Powers world and populated it with some very entertaining characters. The film is his attempt to share that world with us. Jay Roach directed all three films, but I feel that Myers got his own way too often with Goldmember. It's hard to say no to someone with a succesfull franchise of films behind them, but here it would have been the right choice to keep the film as tight as AP2. Just my opinion, of course.

(cor... it's all got a bit deep, in'it)

    Regards

Fair point. I can just see Miss Moore reading the script of AP3, going "But there's no musclebound, big breasted woman cavorting around with no clothes on, Mike. Go find yourself another producer!"

Saw this on Sunday evening. Though it was very funny. Loved the first two (the Spy Who Shagged Me being my favourite)
Will there be any more ? He should do a movie featuring Fat Bastard as the main man. Michael Caine was great wasn't he ?
And Beyonce (suprisingly) was also rather good.

Yeah, I would think there will be another one. I thought the ending was setting up for Scottie to be the bad guy in the next film. But I also think Dr Evil will go back to being evil.

People have been known to change their mind from time to time. A pity if there are no more, especially since an agreement was reached over the titles of any future releases after the furore over similarities to Bond film titles.

I enjoyed AP 3, but I think it should stop now while it's good. I hate it when films/series' overstay their welcome (e.g. Police Academy, Friends etc).

The film gave it a nice funny ending and it should stay at that.

I mean we have terminator 3 coming and that's something i'm not looking forward to.
