Ono,

I saw "Audition" at my local arthouse cinema, and actually felt it was kind of dull. If you've not seen many Asian horror films, then I guess some of the gore may come across as being pretty nauseating, but the ending..... Well, let me just say that it ain't what you are probably expecting. That is, if you pluck-up the courage to sit through it.

For me, the ending went right up it's own backside, with too many twists, turns and trick-endings. (Sorry, can't remember what the proper word is, for a trick-ending!) In comparison to a lot of other Asian horror movies, I don't really rate this one much.

Without giving anything away, we are given no reason for why this girl/woman/lady does what she does?! Is she harming the lead-guy because he treats all women as sex-objects in his TV shows and films, or has she got some kind of personal grudge against men, as a whole gender?! Sadly...

Well, I can't tell you what happens, or else Ono will get a little mad.

Personally, I'd stick to the "Ring" trilogy, of which the first 2 are out on Region 2 DVD, from Tartan DVD. Less gore, but so many, many more scary scenes!
