I've noticed this Audiobahn 15" driver getting a lot of love on this forum lately, I'm looking to replace my JBL's at the moment and wonder how the two compare?

The Audiobahn is the cheaper driver, but that doesn't always mean its not as good, I'm trying out a cheap Alphasonik 12 driver in a sealed box, and that sounds as good as my JBL's to me.

Anyone heard or used both?

:)

I've only used the jbl 12" version in car and it was ok but obviously in a smaller situation , I have a couple of audibahn aw1500v's / 800wrms in a 130l enclosures and they sound very very good but took some time to run them in..........I guess its another option you could go with and would be an upgrade from the jbl's along with the 150t's also.

I used to have a jbl 15 and it went wrong, then was gonna get another when the guy said try this audiobahn instead and to me it was better and cheaper. shame you didn't live closer you could try mine.

Cheers for that, there's nothing actually wrong with my JBL's, its just I need to build new cabs due to moving the room around and I fancy a change.

I can say, that I LOVE the sound that my aw150t makes!!!
Check out my build thread for details.

I was thinking of upgrading the audiobahn to a better driver, but I don't think I'll bother as I haven't found the limit of this driver yet.

In fact, the other day I was running REW sweeps, and was rattling the front door with the 10hz test tone

I've put that into bassbox pro for you, doesn't look that great to me, but I'm rubbish at sealed boxes, don't really know what I'm looking for.

The red line is the sub you gave, the yellow line is a Fi SSD 18 in the same box.

EDIT: I know you weren't aiming that at me, but I had bassbox open anyway. :)

what driver is it, it recommend a 70l box and it models pretty mush the same as a fi q 15 upto about 40hz then the fi edges it slightly(fi in a 65l box)
if you stick that 18" in a 120l box(qtc of 0.608) then it will beat the fi q15 and is about the same as I fi ssd 18"

ssd 18 at 10hz (150l box) 95.453db and 20hz 107.938db

unknown driver (120l box) 10hz 95.869 and 20hz 107db.
70l box 10hz 93.348 and 20hz 105.208.

fi q 15 in a (65l box) 10hz 93.717db and 20hz 104.980db.
