    Hello,

Does playing DVD's via a HCPC cause many lipsync problems? I would need to run a 20m digital cable from my PC to the AMP. Am I right in assuming that this would be unadvisable?

    Cheers,

    Ajax.

    Optical - no way

Coaxial - maybe. 5 Metres was fine for me.

10 mtr coax works fine for me, I guess you will just have to try it. Good cables can be a bit expensive so make sure you can get a refund if it dosent work with 20mtrs.

can i just ask why you reject optical technology as being capable of handling such a 'long distance'. id have thought from what i read and learned doing my uni course that optical runs would be generally superior over long runs compared to coaxial assuming all other factors were equal

Yes but that is with proper optical cables, not the rubbish sold for AV. It also depends on the transmitting and receiving devices.
