Audio/Video Out of Sync Sony TV/Onkyo Receiver/AppleTV

Novice Member
I stream all my TV and movie content, i.e. no live TV feed. My 3 main devices are:
  • AppleTV 4K (1st gen)
  • Sony Bravia KD-55X75CH TV
  • Onkyo TX-NR686 receiver
The Onkyo receiver is my HDMI switch. The AppleTV feeds into the Onkyo which goes out to the Sony TV. My problem is the audio is always ahead of the video no matter what settings I've tried so far. If I turn off the Onkyo and let the AppleTV play through the TV speakers, everything is in sync. Suggestions on resolving?

You should be able to delay the audio if it’s ahead of the video using the AVR.
Quick menu (Q) button on the Onkyo remote. Select other, then AV Sync.

”Press Q on the remote controller to display the Quick Menu. Select the item with the cursors to confirm your selection.
Use the cursors to change the settings: Tone, Level, AccuEQ, Other
on the remote controller, and press ENTER”

A/V Sync: If the video is behind the audio, you can delay the audio to offset the gap. The setting can be set for each input.
• It cannot be set if the listening mode is Pure Audio (European, Australian and Asian models) or Direct.”
