Audio Sync problem from sky to surround sound

Thought some of you knowledgeable people out there might be able to help. I curently have a Sky+ HD box from which I have connected via HDMI a JVC LCD TV, and via optical audio a sony BDV E370 surround sound system. When watching and listening to programs on the TV I have no issues, however when I put the sound through the surround sound system I have major audio delay problems. The sound is behind the TV picture so I cannot use any audio delay on the sky box to fix the problem.

Has anyone else experienced an audio lag problem from the optical audio output, and if so is there any way to fix it.

The delay can be both increased and decreased. Decreasing the delay into negative numbers makes the digital audio out run faster than the picture output. There will also probably be delay adjustment settings within your surround sound system as well, which is what is causing the problems in the first place.

I'm a newbie here and didn't know where the best place to post my question was. How do I go about putting a negative delay on the audio in the sky settings menu I appear to be only able to make 0-200 ms delay so no negative option. My surround sound has a delay setting but i can't make it pick up the signla from the sky box any quicker, again only delay it's output.

Any suggestion welcome.

There's no way you can put the delay into a negative number. 0 is the lowest.

I wish you could as some channels on my 1TB box (especially HD ones) have the video arrive before the audio. A negative value would sort this.
