Having watched Charlie's Angels Full Throttle Unrated on DVD the other night, I thought the DD 5.1 track sounded a bit poor at times. It wasn't the mix as such, because the surrounds were all active, and the bass was fine. But sometimes speech sounded muffled, as well as other sound effects. Is this because it was compressed too much? I think the poor sounds were coming from the centre speaker. It's not the volume, as I tried turning it up. It just sounds like it was recorded on a poor microphone or something (which it wasn't, because I never noticed anything like this in the cinema).

I don't know much about it, but I haven't really noticed anything like this with other DVDs. At first I thought it was my Amp (a Yamaha) but then I tried something else and it was fine.

So has anyone encountered anything like this before?
