Hi all, hopefully somebody can assist with my audio settings. Already tried posting this on Sky forum but nobody seems to know.
I have a Sky 2Tb box (the black one), connected by HDMI to my LG 49UJ670V TV. This is connected to my JBL Bar Studio (2.0) soundbar via the single HDMI ARC on the TV.
The problem is that when playing a movie (e.g. Arrival, The Last Jedi) from Sky with the bar set to movie and surround (pseudo) the mids and upper sounds become recessed forcing the volume to be set higher than I would like as the dynamic range is wide so the loud/bassy bits became deafening. This doesn’t happen playing normal material e.g. BBC1, ITV etc.
Current settings:
I would like to retain the CEC functionality hence the choice of ARC as the Sky remote controls everything.
Any suggestions appreciated.

Current settings:
- Sky box HDMI out is set to Dolby D.
- TV output is on HDMI ARC with Digital Sound set to Auto (the other choice is PCM).
- Soundbar should automatically decode whatever is feeding the ARC input.
